Giulianelli: How Ranieri improved Vardy; China money here to stay; Swansea fans can be happy

I'm starting this piece with Claudio Ranieri's words about his Leicester City:

“We are 11 when we go on to the field and in all my career I don't think I have known a team as strong at being together." And he goes on: "I do not trust the bookmakers. At the start of the season they were saying it was Ranieri for the sack."

This is the real secret of the wonder of Leicester that, in my last column, I've already explained is not so miraculous but the result of a good organisation and of the great work made by Ranieri who has, in some ways, started again with a team already accustomed to playing together. And the most striking aspect of his revolution is, clearly, the man on everyone's lips: Jamie Vardy.

I know that everyone has written something about him, but I don't think it would have been so easy at the start of the season to predict that he would have scored so many goals. And what Ranieri has done with him has given Vardy more faith in himself, lining him up more as a central forward than as a striker who used to play wider (as he did before meeting Claudio).

The new contract signed with Leicester until 2019 at £80,000 per week is a reward for Vardy's sensational season, but I think it should be credited also to Ranieri.

GUIDOLIN WILL NEVER SETTLE

Another good Italian job: Francesco Guidolin has a record of four unbeaten matches in a row with Swansea and he seems unsatisfied by the last 1-1 result against Crystal Palace.

"My team played very well for 90 minutes, but in my opinion. I'm not very happy."

Guidolin thinks that Swansea deserved to win and this is one of the most important aspects of his character: he always wants more from his team, he never settles because he want his players to always do their best. This is the right way to remain in Premier League for the Welsh team.

CSL HAS EVERY MAJOR EURO CLUB NERVOUS

Let's talk about transfers.

Chinese teams are trying to buy up big name players from all the most important European leagues, counting on their incredible resources of money to tempt them. This could be, up to now, the only charming aspect of the Chinese Super League for a player: money.

So here we have the news about Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is ready to leave PSG to join Shanghai Shenhua, as reported by L'Equipe. Or Alex Teixeira sold from Shakhtar Donetsk to Jiangsu Suning for €50 million. Or Ramires. Or Jo. And this is not the end: the Chinese transfer window, in fact, will end on the 26th February.

A rain of cash is ready to fall on Europe and the question is: who will be able to resist?
