Giulianelli: Exclusive - Man Utd meet Lavezzi; Swansea plan Doumbia bid; Boro can beat Bologna for Saint

Black smoke, as we in Italy would say about papal elections, in Paris for the possible transfer of Ezequiel Lavezzi to Manchester United.

Emissaries of the Red Devils were on Friday in the French capital city to convince the Argentinian striker to join their club in this January's transfer window.

PSG has agreed to sell the player, whose contract will expire next June, for an amount of about €8 million.

But Lavezzi has refused their proposal: his intention is to return to Italy and to play for a Serie A club. He has decided to wait for a proposal from the country where he has already been a protagonist in Napoli's shirt.

BUT! We don't have to exclude Manchester United from getting back on track with Ezequiel in the coming weeks...

SWANSEA GO FOR DOUMBIA

Swansea City are determined to take Seydou Doumbia from Roma.

The Welsh club is ready to offer €16 million to take the Ivorian player, back from his loan with CSKA Moscow. His intention is to return again to Russia, as he is considered off the roster at Roma.

But he would consider an offer from the Premier League - if it was really important.

ONLY BORO CAN STOP RAMIREZ BOLOGNA RETURN

Next week Gaston Ramirez could be back where he was introduced to European football.

The Uruguayan offensive midfielder can leave Southampton, as admitted by Rambo Koeman himself, and join Bologna.

Ramirez has asked for a three year contract. Middlesbrough will make a last try to take the player and they're the only rival of the Italian club for Gaston, who has already refused to accept an offer from PAOK in Greece.
