I've just had a quick, openhearted chat with Massimo Cellino. He was full of news bites, as usual.
Here's what the Leeds United supremo had to say:
So, you're keeping on with Steve Evans, even after that bad performance against Brighton & Hove Albion?
"We'll try to finish the season. Hopefully the coach stops talking to journalists and speaking out of turn and that he will dedicate himself to the team a little better!"
Do you think you will keep hold of Leeds United even in the next season or are you planning to sell the club?
"The next season has to be, finally, the one in which I will have to manage the club in my own way. In these first two seasons I have had to dedicate 90% of time, energies and money to consolidate and stabilize a nightmare financial situation!
"If I hadn't done this, I would have behaved in the same way as they did in the past, that means without commitment for the future of the club.
"Of course this attitude doesn't pay off with the supporters with immediate impact, but, in my opinion, is the more reasonable and professional way in the full respect of the club. I have exposed myself to ungrateful and undeserved disapproval, but I was fully aware of this.
"Despite it all, I have worked to be accessible to our fans.
"After all, it wouldn't have taken less time to remedy 15 years of irresponsible management. Actually I didn't think it'd work out in only two seasons!"
Next season's target will be the promotion to Premier League?
"You know that I don't like the bravado and that I'm very superstitious. But surely the next season will be the one that people can rate my sporting job. And, good or bad, I will accept the rating. Without excuses..."
PJANIC HAS ONE FOOT INSIDE CHELSEA
Let's talk about transfers. I've written a lot about the forthcoming arrival of Antonio Conte to the Chelsea bench.
The talks are going on and it's confirmed - the ultimatum of the 24th March; the amounts seem to be £18 million for three years.
A new name for the Blues, asked by Conte: Miralem Pjanic, the Bosnian midfielder of AS Roma, very skilful and expert with free kicks. What is emerging is that Pjanic has a release clause in his contract with Roma for an amount of €40 million.
The Bosnian is seriously taking into consideration the opportunity of flying to London for a new football experience.
