Olivier Giroud admits a conversation with Antonio Conte was key to choosing Chelsea.
Giroud left Arsenal for Chelsea in the final week of the January market.
He told France Football: "What also weighed in my decision is the telephone conversation with Antonio Conte. He let me know that he wanted to work with me, that my profile interested him, that there would be a real competition (with Alvaro Morata).
"He's a coach who likes the 'target man', those who, like me, serve to keep hold of the ball in attack. Chelsea has often evolved with this kind of imposing attacker.
"The guys who played at Chelsea, or against them, all told me that I was going to fit into the team's pattern."
