Olivier Giroud has revealed that he attempted to persuade Moussa Sissoko to join Arsenal.
The attacking midfielder left Newcastle United to sign a five-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day but Gunners striker Giroud has disclosed that he urged his France teammate to join him on the red side of North London.
"I told him to give Arsenal the priority," he said.
"It's true it was special denouement. Until the end he didn't know what he'll do.
"It's good for him. I think it was quite a long month for him so it's good that something could have happened even in the very last moments. It's great for him."
