Giroud forced to delete tweet about joining Arsenal

Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud had to delete a tweet announcing his move to Arsenal yesterday.

The Daily Star Sunday says France star Giroud, 25, yesterday used Twitter to tell the world: "I am a Gunner" but quickly deleted the message.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that a £13million deal for the striker is "90 per cent" done but nothing official has come out of The Emirates.

Now Giroud, who hit 25 goals for Montpellier last season to help them win the Ligue 1 title, looks set to join the Gunners this summer.
