Olivier Giroud says the Arsenal playing group are determined to hold aloft the FA Cup for manager Arsene Wenger.

The French tactician has been the subject of plenty of negativity this season as the Gunners fell out of the top four and failed in the Champions League once again.

To lift the dark clouds on what has been a difficult season in North London, striker Giroud admits it is vital for the Gunners to achieve success for their boss.

"We want to win it for him, because he always supports us and is always behind us," said Giroud.

"He always tries to protect us and then we just have to focus on the pitch. This afternoon we wanted to go through the semi-final and I'm very happy with this win.

"It will give us more confidence [for the future]."

Arsenal will meet London rivals Chelsea in the decider at Wembley on May 27.
