Girona fullback Pablo Maffeo has been released from hospital and returned home today.

On-loan from Manchester City, Maffeo suffered a head injury at Real Betis yesterday. The match finished 2-2 at Benito Villamarín.

Maffeo was checked over by the Girona doctor in the locker room before being transported to a local hospital.

He spent the night at hospital before being cleared to leave and return home. Girona announced Maffeo today is fine.
