Girona are counting on Manchester City to soon clinch the signing of Sao Paulo defender Eder Militao.

AS says Girona expect City to snap up the 20 year-old stopper and place him with them on-loan for next season.

The two clubs enjoy a formal partnership, which saw City players Pablo Maffeo, Aleix Garcia, Douglas Luiz, Marlos Moreno and Larry Kayode all spending last season on-loan with Girona. Moreno also had a spell with Deportivo La Coruna last year.

City are competing with Porto to sign Militao, but are confident of snapping up the Brazilian.

Standing at 1.86m, the youngster can play at centre-half and right-back.
