Girona sports chief Quique Carcel is delighted with their swoop for Manchester City striker Larry Kayode.

Kayode signed for City last week from Austria Wien before being loaned to Girona for the new LaLiga season.

At the Nigerian's presentation, Carcel remarked: "He's liked by many teams in Europe and to enjoy his services was very complicated, but the fact that Manchester City showed interest in him has been fundamental to have him here.

"Kayode will fight for ownership with Portu, Stuani and Marlos Moreno, but in his first training session has shown that he has very clear ideas. He fights and demonstrates a very high competitive level. His qualities will prove that he is a great striker."
