Giovani left in limbo at Tottenham

Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos missed out on an escape from Tottenham, with late moves to Spain falling apart over figures.

The Mexican attacker wanted to go back to La Liga, where Sevilla and Villarreal were negotiating on the final day without success, says the People.

Dos Santos ruled out several other clubs he did not want to join, including some Premier League sides, but neither of his preferred Spanish suitors could agree a fee with Tottenham.
