Giorgi Chirgadze is returning to New York Red Bulls.

Striker Chirgadze was the Red Bulls first-ever homegrown signing from their academy in 2009.

He had been cut from the team earlier this season, due more to personal issues than talent.

But Red Bull coach Hans Backe told the New York Post he'll return "only with the academy and see how it works after a couple of months.''
