Tottenham hero David Ginola feels his old club announced themselves to the world for last night's draw at Champions League opponents Real Madrid.

Spus were good value for the 1-1 result.

"It is not really the result itself, it is the message that they send to the world of football," Ginola told talkSPORT.

"Spurs have been playing great football but they were not showing they were capable of taking European football by storm. Last night, they did.

"The performance was great, the setup was great, tactically they were brilliant. They were not stressed, they played like a very mature team, even with young players.

"Spurs are going in the right direction."
