Ginola fears playing at Wembley will hurt Spurs season

Tottenham legend David Ginola fears playing at Wembley will hurt their season.

The national stadium is home to Mauricio Pochettino's side for the next nine months while work continues on upgrading White Hart Lane.

The Frenchman said: “It will be completely different for them now.

“I have concerns about it because it is not the same when you have been playing all the games at White Hart Lane and then you have to play at Wembley.

“We saw it last year when Spurs played there against Monaco and they were not on top of it. It was not the same for the players. They have their normal habits playing at White Hart Lane and now don't recognise anything.

“People don't realise how important it is to play on your home soil and home ground.

“You represent something that is a lot more than playing just a football game.

“It is your home, your people, your own supporters.

“Even if you have 90,000 watching at Wembley, the players will not have the same feeling."
