Gillingham have handed trials to Bolton Wanderers midfielder Michael Burns.

Gills manager Mark Stimson believes Burns could make a good addition to his squad, "Michael is a left-footed central midfielder and he has got a great pedigree. He was with Liverpool for six years, where he won the FA Youth Cup and played in good teams, then moved to Bolton last season."

He added on the Gills website: "We'll take a look at him over the week and then we can make a decision about taking him on-loan. He could maybe give us better balance in the middle with his left foot and he has got a good eye for a pass. You don't stay at Liverpool for six years if you haven't got a football brain."
