Gillingham have signed Reading youngster Adam Bygrave on loan.

The 18-year-old defender, yet to make a first-team appearance for the Royals, has joined on an initial one-month deal and is in line to make his debut in Saturday's home clash with Hartlepool.

Gills boss Mark Stimson said: "Adam is a player I rate highly.

"I've watched him a number of times for Reading's reserve team and I think he will do a good job for us. He has all the needed qualities and I thank Steve Coppell for allowing him to come here and play games."
