Gillingham boss Stimson delighted with impact of Man Utd striker Brandy

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson is delighted with the impact made by Manchester United loan signing Febian Brandy.

Brandy bagged a goal and an assist on his debut last weekend and the 20-year-old was at it again against Oldham, winning the decisive penalty - converted by Curtis Weston.

With 11-goal frontman Simeon Jackson away on international duty Stimson admitted he had feared the worst, saying: "I was pleased with the win especially in tricky conditions. It was a well fought victory."

He added: "Febian Brandy has that little bit of extra class that the other players don't have. He holds the ball up really well even for a small man and he has got a brilliant first touch.

"We have been trying to get the ball to his feet because we know what he can do. He twists and turns brilliantly.

"With Simeon out of the game we knew that could have been a big miss but Febian was fantastic. Our home record has been very good this season and we continued that."
