Sacked PSG coach Laurent Blanc is emerging as a top candidate for the England job.
The Mirror says former France and Paris Saint-Germain boss Blanc is now available after being sacked despite winning the title in all three seasons he was in charge of the Ligue 1 giants, and he has a very strong ally in one of the FA's three-man panel of king-makers.
Former Manchester United chief executive David Gill is a big fan of Blanc, who steered Les Bleus to the quarter-finals of Euro 2012, already speaks perfect English and played in the Premier League with his Red Devils.
Blanc has also coached big personalities before at PSG - including superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic - and has the depth of experience the FA head-hunters are looking for.
Gill, technical director Dan Ashworth and chief executive Martin Glenn have the job of finding a new manager, a task complicated by Under-21s boss Gareth Southgate deciding he doesn't want to step up and take interim control.
