Gilberto to make Tottenham debut against PSV

January transfer window signing Gilberto could be set to make his Tottenham bow in Thursday's Uefa Cup game against PSV.

The Brazil international's transfer to White Hart Lane proved to be protracted and, since finally securing his move from Hertha Berlin, he has been denied the chance of a debut due to a calf injury.

However, assistant coach Marcos Alvarez confirms that Juande Ramos could at last be able to call upon the player's services for the visit of PSV in the first leg of their last 16 tie.

"Yes, he has a chance because he is now at a good fitness level, he's trained hard for ten days and has joined in fully with the team," said Alvarez.

"We think he is now fit for Thursday. He's a player with a lot of experience and this [extended absence] hasn't proved a problem for him."
