Gilberto: Everyone depressed at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva is reluctant to watch Liverpool's UEFA Champions League semi-final as it would be 'very painful' viewing.

The Gunners exited Europe's elite competition on Tuesday evening after a controversial penalty from Steven Gerrard ensured The Reds claimed a late success.

And Gilberto has admitted that the defeat was an agonising blow as his side were within six minutes of qualification to the last four.

"Everyone is very disappointed with the result especially because of the way we played," he said on the club's official website.

"We were unlucky. The big decisions went against us this time.

"We did very well to equalise, it is very hard especially when you play away from home and are behind. To score is not that easy but maybe we missed our concentration in the final minutes.

"I don't know if I will be watching the semi-final games now. It will be very painful.

"Sometimes you learn more in defeat than you do when you win but, of course, no one at this club enjoys it when you lose the game, especially an opportunity to get into a Champions League semi-final.

"We will learn from the result but I would prefer to learn when we achieve good things."
