Ryan Giggs took a major pay-cut in agreeing a new deal at Manchester United last week, it has been revealed.

The Mail on Sunday says Giggs has accepted a new one-year deal at United that cut his £75,000-a-week salary by a third - despite interest from the Middle East and America.

Giggs's decision to stay was widely celebrated. The Welshman is the only player involved in all of Sir Alex Ferguson's 10 Premier League titles and is the most decorated British player of all time. He has pledged to finish his career at United.
