Giggs: Man Utd youngsters will learn from Kansas defeat

Ryan Giggs says Manchester United's youngsters will learn from their friendly defeat to Kansas City Wizards.

Apart from Paul Scholes, Giggs and Dimitar Berbatov and the fit-again Nani, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson fielded an inexperienced team - and it showed at times.

Giggs said: "You learn something from every game you play when you are younger and you always try to take something from it even when you lose. Hopefully the young lads will be better for the experience.

"The big thing about pre-season is getting your fitness right but of course you want to play well and win your games. It might be a friendly but it's always disappointing when you lose.

"We didn't play well and the second goal was a killer after coming so quickly after we'd got ourselves back into the game and they went down to 10 men. We didn't recover from that."

Giggs added: "It was a good run-out for us. It's hard work in the heat especially when you're a goal down chasing the game but credit to the Wizards, they played well.

"It's always an experience when you're playing at a great stadium, in front of a good crowd against good opposition."
