Giggs confident Man Utd can handle rough stuff

Ryan Giggs is confident Manchester United will learn from the way they were beaten by Bolton Wanderers last week.

"The bottom line is simple - we didn't play well enough," he said. "We didn't create as many chances as we normally do. That had nothing to do with the tackles flying in. We didn't perform like we were doing before the international break.

"In any case, we are not bothered about the physical stuff. We're not exactly soft in training. Training has always been physical and demanding. Everyone wants to take that into a game."

And Giggs isn't worried if any future opponents believe the way to rattle United is to try to intimidate them with the sort of in-your-face challenges which served Bolton well in their shock 1-0 win last Saturday.

Giggs added: "Over the years we've seen different teams coming to Old Trafford with varying tactics.

"They try to kick you. They try to get people behind the ball. It's up to us to try and combat that and to get back on the right lines."
