Giggs to accept No2 role at Man Utd

Ryan Giggs is set to accept an assistant's role with incoming Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal. The Mail on Sunday says Giggs, who stood in as interim manager after the sacking of David Moyes, is now on holiday after meeting with Van Gaal this week. It is understood that talks went well and Van Gaal expects Giggs to take up a position as an assistant in his staff.

Van Gaal will also bring Franz Hoek as new goalkeeping coach as well as physiotherapist Jos van Dyk and analyst Max Reekers.

The appointment of current Holland national team coach will finally be confirmed this week and could even come tomorrow. United held off making the announcement last week as they didn't want to be seen to disrupt Holland's preparations for the Ecuador game.
