Gibson addressed Middlesbrough players at Rockcliffe

Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson made a recent visit to the club's training centre to address the players, it has been revealed.

The Evening Gazette says Gibson made a personal visit to Rockliffe Park to speak to some of the players amid concerns of potential fractions in the dressing room.

After defeat to West Brom, Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: "I sit down with Steve Gibson and Keith Lamb all the time and I know that they are not happy with the situation we are in.

"If they feel that there is a need for change then I can have no arguments.

"I believe that I have their backing and that I try to do things in the way in which we all believe they should be done.

"In the last few weeks certain situations have flared up, but I believe we do the majority of things right.

"If that is not the case then it will come under consideration.

"But I give everything for this football club and I will continue to do so for as long as is possible."
