Ghana national team captain Stephen Appiah admits he knows very little about the current Socceroos side.
The 29-year old Bologna midfielder will lead his nation in this year's World Cup and a June 19 Group D match-up against Australia is scheduled.
Despite there being plenty of Australians who now play in the top leagues in Europe, Appiah admitted that he is only really aware of Palermo's Mark Bresciano and Everton's Tim Cahill, saying he does not know much about the remainder of the Socceroos players.
"Of the Australian players, I know Cahill and Bresciano," Appiah said.
"They are players that can frighten us. But we're going to the World Cup to battle against everyone and not only Cahill and Bresciano.
"I know very little about this Socceroos side," Appiah added.
"We played a friendly match after the World Cup in 2006 (1-1 at Loftus Road in London).
"What I do know is the Australians are very strong physically and they can hold their own at the World Cup.
"I do know that, in football, names count for nothing."
