Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong is delighted with his progress this season.
The Ghana-born England youth international was one substitution away from being Arsenal's youngest ever player when he was named on the bench in the Carling Cup last season and he was within touching distance of a Premier League debut when he made the squad for the trip to Portsmouth in May.
"It was amazing [to be involved at Portsmouth]," he told Arsenal TV Online.
"I remember going out to train with the first team the day before the game and Arsène Wenger said to me that I'm going to be on the bench. I couldn't believe it.
"Unfortunately I have been injured since then but hopefully that has gone now. I'm used to training with the first team and I have got to know some of the players, so hopefully that will carry on for me."
