Getting minutes into Pfeffer great for Philadelphia Union's future - Nowak

Philadelphia Union coach Peter Nowak insists that giving game time to youngsters like Zach Pfeffer in big matches will only benefit both player and club.

The 16-year old has been given two starts by Nowak in recent matches - namely Friday's final regular season game against New York Red Bulls - and the young midfielder has responded with impressive performances.

Nowak feels that it is great for the development of Pfeffer who was grateful for the opportunities he received in his debut MLS season.

"I think playing Zach is good stuff for the future," the Union manager said.

"We know we are going to be in this situation in the future and he needs these games to get the feel for it. He was very good for a couple of days going into this game."

Pfeffer added: "These are the experiences that I have to try to keep learning from and keep building on. As I continue to progress, I want to be a bigger and better player in this league, so every opportunity is going to help me."
