Getafe president Angel Torres has tabled an open offer to Real Madrid midfielder Ruben de la Red.

De la Red has stepped away from football since collapsing during a Copa tie against Real Union last season. He was diagnosed with a heart condition and has been investigating ways to return to the game.

Torres said: "Getafe is here for him should he need us. He has a home here and if he wants to train a youth team, he can do that here too. If he can play, I would sign him."

De la Red enjoyed a successful spell at Getafe before being recalled by Real.
