Getafe may lose new signing David Abraham to Hamburg

Getafe may miss out on FC Basel midfielder David Abraham.

Abraham has signed a four-year contract to join Getafe on a free transfer.

However, he has subsequently opened the door to a move to Hamburg, where he would be reunited with his former Basel coach Thorsten Fink.

"As a Bosman player, Abraham would be a very interesting player for us," Hamburg chief Frank Arnesen told BILD. "But under these terms, this is actually ruled out.

"I have yet to make an official bid as we are so far apart from an agreement.

"There is no use for me to travel to Getafe under these terms. We have to keep waiting to see if the Spaniards massively lower their demands.

"This is now a task for the player agent of David Abraham."
