Former Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede is determined to make the most of his move to Aston Villa.

Gestede hopes he can become a fans' favourite.

"It's a massive club. I'm so glad to have joined," he told the Villa website. "I'm very happy and very excited.

"It's one of the biggest clubs in the UK. I was thrilled when I heard Villa were interested.

"I've heard a lot about Villa Park and the atmosphere in the Holte End. I can't wait to experience that.

"Strikers in the past have been successful here at Villa and I hope to follow the same path.

"I know that No.9-style player has been very popular with fans of this club.

"Hopefully I will follow that lead and have a similar impact."
