Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has warned Luis Suarez not to follow Fernando Torres' path and quit for an English rival like Chelsea.
Gerrard has been speaking to Suarez regularly about his future and even suggested the player would get the blessing of his team-mates if he gave Liverpool one more year.
"Luis is my friend. I was frustrated when he was linked with Arsenal. They are a fantastic club but I didn't see it as a step forward in his career," said Gerrard.
"Luis Suarez is that good, there are only really two or three clubs he should leave Liverpool for. If he stays here another year, he is going to be fantastic for us and he'll have another opportunity to move to a club where he deserves to be. I understand we are a little bit off the Champions League at the moment but with the relationship he has got with our supporters, why go to another English club?
"I see what happened with Fernando Torres and I don't think he (Suarez) should make that move. That's the advice I gave him."
