Gerrard wants to be future Liverpool manager

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard admits he has ambitions of managing the club.

Gerrard, 33, is already planning for the future when he finally hangs up his boots.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "The dream come true would be to manage Liverpool when the job becomes available. For me that would be the icing on the cake.

"I am planning on doing all of my badges and qualifications over the next 12 months. I see myself as a manager rather than a coach. It's a stressful job, especially managing players like me. I'd only do it if I felt I was good enough.

"If I believe I'm good enough to make a difference and be successful then I'll have a crack at it."
