Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has urged fans to keep faith with manager Jurgen Klopp's plans.
Klopp's men – beaten in the finals of the League Cup and Europa League last season – went out of the EFL Cup in the semi-final to Southampton in midweek and stuttered again yesterday in losing 2-1 at home to Championship Wolves in the FA Cup.
Gerrard said: “I'm really excited by this Liverpool squad, but we need to strengthen what we've already got.
“There's some real quality at the club and I have really enjoyed watching them since I have stopped playing.
“But, at the same time, I'd like to see a bit more added to the squad – and, when that happens, we will see Liverpool get over the line.
“Liverpool have lost some big players and some big leaders in recent years.
“Jamie Carragher left, I left, Luis Suarez has left – and when you lose that, then it's important that you keep adding to the squad. When you lose a player like Suarez, even signing four or five players won't replace a talent like that. It's tough."
