Steven Gerrard was in the group of Liverpool players who flew to Spain and a meeting with Real Madrid in the Champions League this week. "Steven will be in the squad. He was okay in training this morning," Benitez confirmed.

"It was a special training session so we were not testing him one hundred per cent, but he trained okay so we will see."

Gerrard has been on the sidelines for three weeks with a hamstring strain.
