Departing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has hinted he could return on-loan in January.

Gerrard is now contracted to play for LA Galaxy, but has revealed that he's accepted an offer from Liverpool to train with the club when the MLS season ends in December.

He said: "I have been invited to come back and spend time here and join in with the lads in training, which is a fantastic gesture from the club. So I will certainly be around during the winter months.

"The plan is to enjoy a bit of time off and maybe do a bit of media work.

"I am going to be saying goodbye to the supporters this week and once I do that it will be difficult to come back and play again.

"Some clubs have already asked about a loan, but that would be a very difficult one. I plan stay in touch with people at Liverpool who I have long-term relationships with."
