Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard felt they showed great character to defeat Aston Villa.
The Reds came from a goal down at halftime to win 2-1 at Villa Park.
Gerrard told liverpoolfc.com: "We had to show a lot of character, we had to raise it a little bit at half-time. We felt hard done by to be trailing at half-time.
"After the first 45 minutes we should have been at least level. But we found ourselves 1-0 down so we needed an extra ten per cent.
"That's what you need to do: go out after half-time and score as early as you can. That gave us the belief and the confidence to go on and win the game."
