Steven Gerrard says Danny Murphy left Liverpool too soon.

The Fulham captain has enjoyed an outstanding last two years at Craven Cottage.

Gerrard told Goals on Sunday: "I think Danny left the club too soon.

"I think he had the ability to play for a few more years - maybe not every week because at Liverpool you have three or four top players in every position."
