The 32 year-old has his eyes set on silverware before hanging up his boots.
"My motivation is the same as it was before I made my debut: I love playing for Liverpool," he told liverpoolfc.com. "It's my team, I support them, and I don't like it when we get beat.
"There are a lot of exciting games coming up this season that I want to be a part of.
"The experiences like the Wembley trips and the Champions League finals, I'd like to have more good nights in a red shirt before I hang my boots up."
