Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits he's spoken with England teammate Wayne Rooney about his future at Manchester United. Gerrard, who will win his 103rd cap, has been talking to Rooney about his future during England's preparations for this evening's fixture.
The skipper said: "I've been speaking to him - you know how close I am to Wayne. We've been speaking as mates and stuff. I just try to gauge what his mood is - he's certainly looking forward to the game.
"I remember watching DVDs of Gazza and Bobby Robson talking about him always kicking a ball around the hotel and he can't wait to get on the training ground. Wayne Rooney is exactly the same. That is who I would compare him to."
