Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has welcomed Rafa Benitez's new five-year contract.

He said: "Liverpool is not really known for all this sort of thing in the media and in-house fighting so it's nice to have all of that put to bed and Rafa's dedicated five years to the club he loves and we can all move on.

"Hopefully the next five years can be successful because the main thing at this club is winning trophies."
