Low has grown frustrated by what he perceives to be inconsistent information emanating from Chelsea about the state of Ballack's ankle injury, which has required two operations and kept him out since last April. The German federation [DFB] doctors expect their captain to be back training within a couple of weeks and hope to have him fit for the European Championship qualifying match against Ireland on October 13, but Chelsea do not expect to have him back until the end of November and as a result have not included him in their Champions League squad for the group stages.
Low hopes that a meeting will help him to get to the bottom of the problem as well as revealing Mourinho's plans for Ballack, who is crucial to Germany's hopes in Austria and Switzerland next summer.
