German interest in Chelsea's Zulte-Waregem loanee Hazard

Zulte-Waregem chairman Carl Balliere suggests Thorgan Hazard could find himself in Germany next season.

The 21-year old Chelsea attacking midfielder is enjoying a second successive season-long loan with the Belgian Pro League outfit for whom he has scored 11 league goals to top the scoring charts in 2013/14.

Hazard initially joined the Essevee in August 2012 after signing with Chelsea from French club Lens the month prior and impressed in his first season of senior football in his homeland.

Zulte were quick to call him back for another stint at the Regenboogstadion where he has flourished even further, prompting interest from Bundesliga clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

It is believed that Hazard will again be loaned out by the Blues next term with Balliere hinting at a potential short-term shift to the German top flight.

"About five games is Thorgan away from (finishing with) us, there is much interest in him," Balliere told nieuwsblad.be.

"Also from Germany," Balliere added.

This season, Hazard has helped Waregem into third spot in Belgium's top flight as they prepare for their next play off group clash with sixth-placed Genk on Friday night. The Essevee are only three points behind league leaders Standard Liege with a handful of fixtures remaining in the season.
