Geremi admits Charles N'Zogbia came close to quitting Newcastle United over the summer.

Cameroon star Geremi said: "It was in his mind to leave when I joined Newcastle in the summer. I asked him where he was going and he told me the club. I said 'Don't make that kind of mistake'.

"I told him 'Where you want to go is not good' and that Newcastle was far better than the club he wanted to join.

"I can't tell you which club, though. I just told him to work hard and he would get a chance. Now you can see the results. He's great."
