Gera to make West Brom return next week

Zoltan Gera is expected to be back in action for West Bromwich Albion next week.

The Hungarian midfielder has been sidelined since November because of a knee injury but could get some game time when the Baggies meet FC Copenhagen in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

"Zoltan had a long-term injury for 14-15 months, give or take two or three games," new Albion boss Steve Clarke told the Birmingham Mail.

"But he is working every day and showing signs of improvement.

"If we can get him some time on the pitch in Copenhagen then great, but we won't rush him.

"It's not psychological - he's been in the game long enough to know it's part and parcel that you do get injuries.

"We will see how the work goes over the weekend."
