Zoltan Gera doesn't expect to walk straight into West Bromwich Albion's midfield.
The former Fulham fans' favourite is also aware he cannot take a starting place for granted even when he is fully fit, due to the fierce competition for places in the Baggies midfield.
"It was a very difficult start because we played well but lost to the big teams," he told the WBA website.
"We were unlucky. But in the last game when we needed to win we won. It was a good result.
"I can see the squad has lots of good players and I'm confident the points will come for us.
"It will make it difficult to get into the team because we have lots of good midfielders, like Graham Dorrans, who played in the reserves last night.
"There is good competition for places and hopefully I can play."
