Newcastle United winger Georginio Wijnaldum insists the current squad do care.
But he has admitted the “body language" of his team-mates did not look good, and concedes they are not playing as a team.
"It is hard to see what people say about us, but it is the truth," said Wijnaldum.
“The manager explained he was not mad, just disappointed that we don't play with spirit, we don't fight to win the game, and we don't do it as a team."
The ex-PSV winning skipper, has spoken to every Newcastle player this week to get inside their heads and insisted: “They care. No one wants to be in this position."
