Middlesbrough defender George Friend has penned a new four-year contract.

Friend has signed a new four-year deal with the Premier League club.

The 28-year-old defender, who joined Boro from Doncaster Rovers in 2012, said: "What I can promise in return is to continue to give 100% commitment."

His fellow defender Daniel Ayala also signed a new-four year deal last week.

Boro are back in the top flight for the first time since 2009.
