Geordie lad Alex Kitchen is eager to kickstart his career at Newcastle United.
The defender is fought back from a nine-month injury lay-off.
Kitchen told the Evening Chronicle: "I was injured for so long.
"I had a spilt in my tendon so I was out for six months. I didn't play for nearly nine months. It was frustrating being injured for that long and hopefully I never have to go through that again.
"But it has been great to play again. The results were not the best, but it was a good experience. A couple of the lads got injured and I got my chance. I'm just happy to be playing again.
"It's something that you can take into future games with you."
