Genoa to test Villarreal resolve for Rossi

Genoa are launching a bid for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.

Despite splashing out on Sergio Floccari (Atalanta), Robert Acquafresca (Inter Milan) and Hernan Crespo (Inter Milan), Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is ready to test Villarreal's resolve over Rossi, says Sportsmediaset.

Preziosi is a big fan of the former Manchester United youngster and sees the Italian as the ideal replacement for Inter Milan-bound Diego Milito.
